He is a distinguished Emirati Consultant Ophthalmologist specializing in Oculoplastics, Orbital Surgery, Cosmetic Facial Ophthalmology, and Neuro-Ophthalmology. A graduate of the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin (MB,BCH,BAO, 1998), he completed his internships in Ireland and Canada before specializing in Ophthalmology at the University of Toronto and earning his FRCSC in 2008.

He is a licensed practitioner in Ireland and Ontario, a Botox & Fillers certified specialist, and a recipient of Arab Health’s Young Surgeon of the Year Award (2014). He also completed the Monash-Harvard Macy Leadership in Health Program (2017).
In his current role as Residency Program Director & Lead Consultant of the Oculoplastics Division at Dubai Health (since Jan 2025), Dr. AbuHaleeqa leads clinical education and surgical excellence. Previously, he served as Lead Staff Consultant at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi (2020–2024), and Chief of Department and Residency Director at Mafraq Hospital (2011–2019), where he spearheaded ACGME- I accreditation and fostered top-tier educational and clinical services.
He has also held leadership roles including Director of Graduate Medical Education at CCAD (2023–2024) and general secretary of ESO then Vice President of ESO in two consecutive boards.
